Smoant Pasito Mini Review
April 19, 2023I have to admit that Smoant wasn’t a name I had come across until I spotted them on Twitter earlier this year. Curious to discover more, I took a look through their product range. I could see that they put a lot of attention to detail into the aesthetics of their kits, resulting in some stunning results. With so many great looking kits I had to have one. It was hard to decide on which one to get, but in the end I settled on trying out the Pasito Mini.
Smoant Pasito Mini Review
Look and Feel
Having settled on the kit, I had to pick a style. The Smoant Pasito Mini comes in 8 styles: Kelly Green, Black, White, Blue Twill, Space Grey, Cyan Gradient, Brown and a limited edition Seashell pattern. Most of the kits I have so far are black, so I thought it was time for a change. With that in mind I picked the White option, although Kelly Green did come a close second!
Size and Build
Measuring just 97mm in height, the Smoant Pasito Mini is a compact pod device. As with most kits in this form factor, the Pasito Mini fits into your palm and pocket perfectly. Despite its size, the kit is solidly built. It has a durable metal frame which I think adds a reassuring amount of durability and weight. I find this refreshing as the kit feels like it has real substance when compared to others in its class.
Design and Aesthetics
The White Pasito Mini that I chose was clearly designed with elegance in mind. It boasts a golden metallic finish that, in my opinion, perfectly complements the white faux leather panels. This all adds together to give the kit a sophisticated and luxurious look. The front face features a large panel with the kit name running from bottom to top along one edge. On the reverse it sports two panels separated by a gold bar, with the Smoant logo picked out in gold lettering on the bottom panel. The controls and LED indicator are located on the side of the device, set into a black glassy finish. While the other edge is smooth and metallic, completing the device’s sleek design. Overall, I feel that these elements combine to deliver a premium looking aesthetic, the likes of which you would expect to see in the hands of the rich and famous.
Battery Life and Charging
The Pasito Mini is powered by a built-in 1100mAh lithium battery. I find that this is more than enough to see me through the day. I’m grateful to say that I don’t have to constantly charge this kit up. Furthermore, the fact that it uses a lithium battery is also important. This means you get full power for every puff right up until the battery runs out.
When the fire button is pressed, the LED indicator displays the remaining battery charge of the device. A red light indicates that the power level is below 30%, blue indicates 30% to 60%, and white indicates anything above 60%.
The kit takes around 90 minutes to charge from flat which is pretty decent. During charging, the light flashes with colour of the current charge level. Once the battery reaches a full charge of 100% it turns solid white.
I recently tested out another kit that didn’t provide the user with any indication of battery life, so having lights that clearly state how much power I have is a relief to say the least! No more running out of charge whilst I’m out and about.
Power Output
The Smoant Pasito Mini offers multiple power levels to suit different vaping preferences. Viewing and changing the power levels is really simple. Just press the settings (VW) button once to check the current power level, then press it again within 2 seconds to cycle to the next. The LED indicator will flash each time you press the button to show the current power level:
- Red: Low
- Blue: Medium
- White: High
As a rule, I tend to use most kits on the maximum power setting. However, I found the medium setting on the Pasito Mini provided more than enough oomph to satisfy me. This is great, as it means the battery will last longer before I have to plug it in.
Pasito Mini coils
The Pasito Mini uses Smoant’s P-Series coils which come in three variations. The kit itself comes pre-installed with a P-1 coil that has a resistance of 0.6 ohm, but also has a 1.0 ohm P-3 coil in the box. If you’re looking for something in between, you can also pick up the 0.8 ohm P-2 coils. My favourite of the three was the P-1 coil. It suits my vaping style perfectly and produces a really satisfying hit with a lot of vapour. That being said though, even the P-2 and P-3 coils provided a really satisfying experience.
The coils make use of a push-fit system. I’ve had problems with push-fits on a number of kits as they often lead to leaks. However I’m relieved to say that I haven’t had any issues with that whilst using the Pasito Mini.
Changing the Smoant Pasito Mini coils
Changing the coil on a Smoant Pasito Mini is as straightforward as it’s possible to be. This is thanks to the use of the push-fit system.
I’ve included the steps to do this below.
- Remove the pod from the device by pulling it out of the slot.
- Hold the pod upside down and pull the old coil from the bottom of the pod.
- Push the new coil into the bottom of the pod, making sure it is snug.
- Fill with your favourite e-liquid.
- Re-insert the pod back into the device.
It’s important to note that it’s recommended to wait a few minutes after filling the pod with e-liquid to allow the coil to fully saturate before using the device. This helps to avoid any potential dry hits or burning of the coil.
Filling
The Pasito Mini uses a refillable pod system with a capacity of 3.5ml (2ml in European Union countries). The pods are easy to fill and feature a side-fill port that is easy to open. I find that this makes filling the pod quick and mess-free.
Airflow
The Smoant Pasito Mini features a convenient and user-friendly way to control the airflow through a simple slider located on the side of the pod. By sliding the tab up or down, you can adjust the airflow to your preferred level. Whether you prefer a tighter draw or a more open one, the Pasito Mini provides for all. The slider is easy to use and ensures that you can customize your vaping experience to your liking.
As regular readers will know, I like a lot of airflow. So as always, I left the slider in the open position which provided the perfect airflow to suit my needs.
Pasito Mini Vaping Experience
I tested out the Smoant Pasito Mini with Greedy Loaded Lemon E-liquid. It’s a flavour I love and have been using as a benchmark when testing some of my other kits.
I have to say the Pasito Mini has exceptional flavour production and delivers a true-to-taste vaping experience. This is further enhanced by the device’s constantly level power output, which maintains a consistent flavour from the first puff to the last. It easily ranks in my top kits for flavour.
The kit also gives users a consistently smooth and satisfying vaping experience through out. Despite its compact form, the Pasito Mini is capable of producing impressive clouds of vapor. My opinion is that this is due to the device’s well designed airflow and its ability to deliver a stable power output. When combined, these element result in a steady and smooth vapor production.
Final Verdict
A smaller version of the original Pasito RBA system, the Mini is designed for users who prefer a simpler device that can easily fit into their pocket or purse.
I think that Smoant have produced a real winner here. The Pasito Mini’s ability to deliver such a great flavour profile over the full battery span, which in itself is long lasting, is a testament to the kit’s design. Paired with a durable build and pleasing aesthetics, I really feel it should be a go-to device for flavour enthusiasts.
Whether you are a cloud chaser or prefer a more restrained vaping experience, the Smoant Pasito Mini is a versatile device that can deliver a satisfying hit every time. Its small size also makes it ideal for on-the-go vaping, allowing you to enjoy your favourite e-juices anywhere you go. It has certainly earned it’s place amongst my top vape kits and I can see myself using this one daily for some time.
